May 7, 1929 - January 6, 2019
It brings us great sadness to announce the swift passing of Dad at the age of 89 in the Deltaview care home, Delta, B.C., where he had been living for the past year. Born and raised in Burnaby, B.C., he also lived in Coquitlam, Crescent Beach, Vancouver and Duncan.

He was predeceased by his parents Alice Corinne (Young) and Malcolm Edward Adams, his stepmother Yvonne and his sister Rosemary (Burnham).

He is survived by his wife Glenna, his first wife Beverley and children Julie, Debbie (Peter), James and Kevin (Alisia), and Dean Johansson (Bryan), Todd Johansson (Jeannette) and many grandchildren.

In the late 1980's, after selling his automotive company John F. Adams & Son Ltd., he and Glenna built their dream home on the water at Genoa Bay near Duncan on Vancouver Island where he spent an active and happy retirement, moving into Duncan in 2014.

To say Dad was a "Scouter" would be an understatement, his involvement in scouting started as a boy and lasted his lifetime! He also loved his boats (even living aboard several times) and was an avid traveller (Canada, USA, Mexico, Greece, Europe and Asia), always curious to investigate and explore new experiences. He loved nature and learning about the world around him, especially his beloved B.C. He could often be found puttering in his workshop, making things for the home and garden-a big fan of "the Right Tool for the Job"! He also enjoyed watercolour painting and learning to play the banjo.

Dad loved helping and meeting people. He was a mentor and a friend to so many. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

No service by his request, but we will announce a "Celebration of his Life" to be held in Duncan in the Spring.
