With much sadness, the family of Joe (Josephus) E.M. Busse announce his passing on May 26, 2018.
Joe (John/Joop), Dad, Opa was born in Enkhuizen, Netherlands to Johann and Cornelia Busse, the fifth of seven siblings. Joe immigrated to Canada in 1954 at the age of 19.
Returning to Holland in 1956 to visit his family, he met Helena. She followed him to Canada, marrying July 1956. Together they had 3 children Corinne, Joyce, and Leo.
Joe and Helena lived in Victoria, on the Malahat, and retired to Mill Bay. Joe worked as a landscaper and, in his semi-retirement, as a gardener. How Joe loved his gardens, food and Premier League football! In 1979 they lost their daughter Joyce at the young age of 20. After 58 years of marriage and many happy memories, Helena passed away in 2015.
Joe leaves behind his daughter Corinne, son Leo (Kathleen) of Whitehorse and granddaughter Breanne (Scott).
