Joy G. Hughes (nee Poole) passed away peacefully at the Cowichan District Hospital July 27, 2017. She was born in Springhill, Manitoba August 31, 1927 to Elizabeth and R. Allen Poole. She moved to Calgary, Alberta where she met and married John and had three
children: Patrick, Donald and Margaret and two nieces who were her other daughters - Linda and Lorna. Predeased by her parents, husband and daughter. Survived by her sons Patrick and Donald(Dalene), nieces she helped raise Linda and Lorna(Dennis), three brothers Donald, Lorne and George and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Joy spent the last 20 years of her life in Lake Cowichan where she enjoyed spending time with her family, painting and playing bridge. Mom will be dearly missed. The family would like to thank Joy's many doctors and the staff at the Cowichan District Hospital for their care of our mother.
