November 23, 1943 - October 23, 2021
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Judith 'Judy' Innes on Saturday, October 23, 2021. After a courageous battle with cancer, Judy passed away peacefully at home looking out on her rose garden.
Judy's bright and joyful sense of fun will forever enlighten the lives of the many people who loved her so much.
She will be lovingly remembered and forever cherished by her husband William 'Bill'; son Robert 'Rob'; grandson Malcolm; sister Beverly; brother Doug as well as her loving extended family.
Judy was brought up among the grape fields of the Niagara peninsula, the youngest of five Cudney children. Her family was in the fruit canning business and were also prominent in the international show jumping world. Judy was a figure skater and practiced as a primary school teacher in Ontario and Alberta.
Judy and Bill were married in 1967 which led to an international life in Canada, the USA, Japan and Belgium. In 2005 they retired to the Cayman Islands which had been their second home for many years, returning to Canada in 2012. In 2016, they moved to Cobble Hill to be close to their son Rob and grandson Malcolm; and built the home they had been dreaming of, surrounded by gardens overlooking the Gulf Islands.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in honour of Judy may be made directly to the Cowichan District Hospital Foundation: #101-5822 Garden Street, Duncan, BC, V9L 3V9, 250-701-0399, www.cdhfoundation.ca.
