Judy Sonia Dainton

August 19, 1937 - July 24, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom Judy after a long battle with cancer. She will be sadly missed.

Judy leaves behind her daughter Julie (Jim), and son Stephen. Grandchildren Dawn, Serenity, Carly and one great grandchild Harrison. Predeceased by her husband Derek Fiddes.

Judy was born in England and moved to Canada at the age of 20. She raised her children in Ontario where she later met and married Derek. They enjoyed sailing together out of Pickering.

Judy worked at a few businesses in Ontario, one of which was Canada Colours, where she made many long time friends who stayed in contact with her up until the end. This is where her love of computer's and anything "techie" came about.

Judy loved watching the news and was always very up to date on all political issues, making sure we were too! While living in BC she and Derek enjoyed Ham Radio, the Canadian Power and Sail Squadron and travelling together. Judy enjoyed working in her garden, when she wasn't pecking away on her computer.

A celebration of life will be held on August 19, 2018 from 2 - 5 pm at Unit 24-3497 Gibbins Road. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Cowichan Valley Hospice Society, http://cowichanhospice.org/.
