With profound sadness, I share the passing of my beloved husband, Ken, who passed peacefully, at home, with me and his dear friend, Barry Miller, by his side.

Ken will be deeply missed by his wife, Cynthia, his sons: Dale, Perry (predeceased), Brian, Barry (Pat), Craig (Trish), Gary (Terri), David, Kelly (Nimi), Doug (Denise), his grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws and by our closest friends who supported us immeasurably over the years, Barry (Gina), Pat, Carrie (Doug) and Laurie (Ted).

Ken was born in Rosetown, Sask., the youngest of 4 sons, Jim, Percy, and Donald, born to Susan and Hugh McLachlan, all predeceased. Ken graduated from motor engineering before proudly serving in the Royal Canadian Navy during WW2. He farmed in Saskatchewan until moving to the Island in 1968. He retired from Kerry Park Arena in 1986.

Despite suffering from a stroke and cancer, Ken remained a caring, gentle, compassionate, happy and grateful man, who loved life, a good laugh, family, friends, his animals, cooking, music and our fireplace.

Heartfelt thanks to the doctors, care aids, and nurses who helped care for Ken.

No formal service, at Ken’s request. We will have a small gathering of loved ones to celebrate Ken’s life. Cards and flowers gratefully declined, and if you wish, please donate to a charity of your choice.

Condolences may be sent to cnkmclachlan@gmail.com.
