Leslie Jean Kelly, M.A. (nee Schindel), fondly known as "Kotee", Born Albany, New York, July 18, 1942.
Our Beloved Kotee passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday morning, August 12th, after a long struggle with Lung Cancer.
A Creative, Colourful, Whip-smart Woman, with untold strength and determination to live her life fully to the very end, Leslie is remembered as Chief Celebrations Officer: a gourmet chef, a steadfast friend, a crafty grandmother--as well as legendary den mother to a generation of Winnipeg children and youth, not least her own kids: Patrick Kelly (of Shanghai), Kate Koyote (of Cowichan), and Christopher Kelly (of Los Angeles).
She continues to be loved by her children, 9 grandchildren, her "bestie" Fran, her younger sister and brother and their families, her enormous Newfie "Nellie," her garden of culinary herbs, her amazing assortment of friends, young and old, and remembered around town in her custom yellow Scion: Leslie Kelly-Shawl Farm Kitchen.
Dance with the stars, soar with the wind, slide down a rainbow, breathe easy. Come visit when you can.
