She was born the fourth child (and youngest daughter) of Hank and Kim Chow in Kings' Daughters Hospital in Duncan,B.C. on Jan 6th,1963. She attended school in Duncan and eventually graduated from Cowichan High in 1981. She was very active in sports ... playing volleyball, basketball, and field hockey competitively during her middle and high school years.
She lived in Burnaby where she worked for CIBC and then moved to Calgary and eventually to Ontario. Returned to B.C. where she got her real estate and property management licenses and began her real estate career in 1996.
She worked for a few realty offices and lastly for Pemberton Holmes. She was instrumental in bringing back the "Chow Mein" stand to the Cowichan Exhibition after many years of absence and much to everybody's delight.
She had her daughter Kascia in 1993 and raised her as a single mom. Life was a struggle but she had lots of family support and Kascia grew up to be fiercely independent just like her mother.
She was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer in early 2019 but she did not waiver and fought it to the end. Her outlook on her diagnosis was very positive and she was certain she was going to beat it.
Unfortunately the cancer bested her but she went out as she led her life...on her own terms.
Many thanks to Dr. Butler in the ER and the nurses at CDH in making her last moments comfortable. And many thanks to Krista for always being by her side.
No service due to Covid 19.
