We are truly and deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dearest Lucille Myra Belanger. Lucy passed away at 60 years old after a long and hard battle with cancer at the Victoria Hospice on November 27th.

Lucy was a vibrant, gentle and loving soul. She opened her arms and her heart to everyone she met and welcomed them with a smile. She was admired and respected by all who knew her for her talent, intelligence and caring personality.

Lucy was a very passionate teacher and spent her life working for BCTF in School District 79. Her last teaching position was at George Bonner. Every day she would come to the classroom and prepare a friendly, safe and happy environment for the children to learn in. She earned the title "favorite teacher" by so many kids.

Lucy loved to dance and sing and play cards with her family. She loved to embark on artistic adventures. She was a very creative woman, a fantastic writer, guitar player and painter. She made a mark on the hearts of so many people and will be loved and missed forever.

She was predeceased by her mother Margaret Guenther who passed away in 1998 and her father Burt Guenther who passed away earlier this year. She is survived by her three children, Aussten, Jesse and Brooklyn Belanger and her two grandchildren Mya Belanger and Bowen Petriello.

She is also survived by her three sisters Val Allard, Deb Bassham and Kathy Karasuik.

We will be holding a celebration of her life in January 2018, the exact time and date are to be determined.

Please contact Brooklyn Belanger at 250-710-7058 for any questions or concerns.
