Marc David Dupont

September 27, 1952 - February 13, 2020
Marc David Dupont, born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan to Maurice and Eileen Dupont on September 27, 1952, passed into the presence of his Saviour on the evening of February 13, 2020 at the age of 67, in his Nanaimo home, after a long battle with cancer. Marc spent the majority of his life in the Cowichan Valley with his 9 other siblings, and spent only the last 6 years in Nanaimo.
Marc was known for his amazing, always humorous disposition. He loved to make others smile and laugh and remained positive throughout his illness, maintaining his humour right to the end. He was a Heavy Duty Mechanic by Trade, and was quite a handyman spending many years as a Janitor/Custodian, and landscaper . He loved tinkering on cars, creating woodworking projects, and just about anything that involved working with his hands. One of Marc's greatest joys in life was softball and he enjoyed the last few years playing in Nanaimo for the Viper's. He faithfully attended Brae Rd. Gospel Chapel in Duncan then Nanaimo Alliance Church, where he realized how much he loved to sing. He loved to gather with God's people and sing songs of praise to his Saviour.
Marc was predeceased by his Father, Maurice Dupont. He is survived by his mother Eileen, all of his siblings, Sharon, Del, Rick, Blair, Pam, Ellie, Ben, Maria, Theresa, his wife Ann, children-David (Robyn), Rob, Devon, Kristiann, Caleb, Josiah, Abi, Kalea, and grandchildren, Emily, Koen, Aden, Dylan, and Kadianna.
Special thanks to Dr Ibrahim, Dr Otte, Dawn, student Vanessa, all the other Home Care Nurses, Pavel, Sharon, Rodney and all the other Healthcare Aids of Nanaimo Home and Community Care who cared for Marc with such compassion and kindness. You are all so very appreciated!
A Celebration of Life will be held February 29th, 1:30 pm at Nanaimo Alliance Church, 1609 Meredith Rd, Nanaimo. Donations may be made to Camp Imadene in Lieu of Flowers where Marc volunteered, with his kids, for over 25 years, and spent 2 and a 1/2 years on staff.
