Marcel Joseph Luc (Froggy) Lambert of North Cowichan, beloved husband of Linda Lambert, passed away February 11, 2020 at the age of 65 years. He was the loving father of his daughter Dana (John) and son Kevin (Julia). He will be dearly missed by his mother, Hermance Menard, brother Robert, sisters Helène (Paul) and Gislaine (Gerald), uncle Gilbert (Marie-Claire), aunt Leanne (Aurele) and all his extended family. He is predeceased by his father, Gerard Menard. He will be lovingly remembered by countless friends and community members.
Marcel grew up in Wawa, Ontario and moved to Chemainus in 1976 where he met his wife, Linda. The couple settled in North Cowichan where they raised their two children. Marcel was a talented artist, craftsman and architect, designing and constructing his first family home in 1985. He worked in forestry, surveying numerous locations on the west coast of BC. Subsequently, he became a welder for the Municipality of North Cowichan where he worked for 30 years. He coached his son’s Cowichan Valley Minor Hockey team and was a dedicated karate student together with his daughter at the Fernando Correia School of Karate. He was also a karate instructor at Fernando Correria’s Lake Cowichan dojo. For Marcel, music was a daily passion throughout his life. He also had a love for classic cars, most of all his 1969 Roadrunner.
Marcel’s character shone brightly among all those who knew him. Beyond his well-known sense of humor and eccentric personality, he had a pureness of heart, a meticulous nature and moved through life with kindness, sincerity and dedication. Above all he valued family, friends, community and Mother Nature. His love and memory will live on in the lives of many.
Donations in honor of Marcel Lambert can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
Celebration of Life followed by reception will be held at New Life Community Baptist Church, 1839 Tzouhalem Rd, on February 29 at 2:00 pm.
