It is with great sadness, the family of Marion Maguire announces her passing on March 18th, 2017. To everyone who knew her, Marion was a loving Aunt and a loyal and true friend to many. With her warm smile and the twinkle in her eye, she melted the hearts of everyone she met.

Marion was born in Beulah, Manitoba August 3rd, 1934 and moved west as a young woman, settling on Vancouver Island over 40 years ago. She was pre-deceased by her husband Gerald Maguire in 1985 and by her three sisters, Evelyn, Kay and Dorothy as well as sister-in-law and brother-in-law Darline and Cliff.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews who will remember her warm heart and gentle disposition.

Marion enjoyed her life to the fullest, always up for a game of cards and a glass of wine. Everyone was always welcome at Marion’s Bed and Breakfast and she enjoyed many visitors from near and far. Traveling was one of her passions, visiting many areas of the world. Winter months were spent enjoying curling on TV, Christmas Craft shows and Chemainus Theatre with family and friends.

Marion leaves behind fond and happy memories and will be missed by all.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at the Lodge on Fourth in Ladysmith for their wonderful care and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marion’s memory to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017 at 2:00pm at Sands Funeral Chapel, 187 Trunk Road in Duncan. Light refreshments will be served.
