May 2, 1946 - September 22, 2020
Wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, artist and storyteller.
Born and raised in Northern England, Maureen came to Canada as a part of the Catholic Church's FA program. She spent time teaching in Smithers and then Salmo, where she met the love of her life, David. Shortly after they married, they moved to Prince George where they raised their three daughters.
Twelve years ago, they retired to Duncan to enjoy the temperate Island winters and to spend time by the ocean.
A truly gentle and creative soul; her life was devoted to her family, her friends and her faith. Maureen enjoyed her time with the Maple Bay Painters and had recently joined the St. Edward's CWL.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and her family wishes to express their gratitude to Drs. Seymour and Saunders, as well as the staff of the Cowichan Lodge, for their care, kindness and compassion.
Maureen will be greatly missed by her husband David; daughters Maria (Doug), Elizabeth (Kevin) and Andrea (Thomas); and grandchildren Nicholas, Norah and Matthew. A private mass has taken place. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Maureen's name to the Parkinson Society of BC https://www.parkinson.bc.ca/donate/
