Our Mother and family Matriarch passed away the afternoon of January 9th, 2020, at the age of 82, the same day as her husband Leo's birthday.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Anna Eisler; husband Leo Untereiner; brother Leonard, sister Phyllis Vogt; nephew Jason Eisler; niece Jennifer Eisler; great-grandson Leo.
Mildred will be deeply missed by her children Laurie, Jim, David (Dawn), Glen (Karin), and Brian (Eriko); grandchildren Rose (Toby), Robin, Christopher (Nikki), Daniel, Kaitlyn and Kai; great-granddaughter Rowyn; brothers Jerome (Sheila), Ronald (Donalda), Syd (Shirley) and their families.
She grew up in small town Odessa, Saskatchewan. Mildred and Leo raised their children in Regina and moved to Duncan, British Columbia, in 1986.
Mildred touched many lives with her kindness and support. Her home was always the gathering place for her family and many friends. Her presence in the community was deep and widespread as she loved volunteering. She built many lasting friendships over her twenty years of volunteer support at the Cowichan Valley Basket Society.
We have been so blessed to have her in our lives. She was a beacon of love and support. We all hold the light of her love within us and may that light give us comfort in our sorrow. We miss her terribly and the memory of her is held protected in our hearts.
A heartfelt Thank You to Dr. Szabo, Dr. Pewarchuk, and all the nurses and support staff throughout her many years of healthcare support.
We are honouring her request for no formal service. Thank you for respecting her wishes. In lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Cancer Research Society.
