Minke passed away peacefully on Monday March 17th, 2025 in Duncan, BC. Minke was born in The Netherlands, but lived most of her life in Canada. She was predeceased by her husband Durk in 2003. Minke will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Teresa, Margaret, Mary-Ann, Helen, and Nancy; her four sons-in-law; her five grandchildren; her great-granddaughter; and many other family members in Alberta, Ontario, and The Netherlands. Minke will be remembered for her kindness, generosity of spirit, and love for all. She was a nurse, a mother, and a singer, but what she loved most was walking. A special thank-you to the staff at Cerwydden Seniors Community for taking such good care of her.
A Funeral Mass in celebration of her life will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at St. Edward's Catholic Church, 2085 Maple Bay Road, Duncan, BC.
Donations can be made to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Clements Centre in Duncan.
