After a nine month battle with cancer Morreen passed away at home on October 12th, with Tom her husband of 50 years, by her side. She is survived by husband Tom, daughter Jennifer, son Ryan, sister Jaci, brothers Glenn, Tim and Tom Morris.
Morreen was born in Vancouver and raised, from age two, in Kyuquot, BC where she attended a one room school until age 11. She later attended middle school and high school in Nanaimo and soon after attained her hair dressing license. At age 18 she moved to Lake Cowichan where she lived for the rest of her life It was there that she began her hair dressing career at Fair Lady Beauty Salon. She later opened her own shop named "40 Main Street" which she successfully operated for many years later moving the business to her home. Mo had a very loyal clientele with many of the same clients for decades.
In 1969, Morreen married Lake Cowichan- raised Tom Coulter. On October 4th of this year (2019) Mo and Tom celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at the Lake Cowichan Curling Lounge with many friends and family attending. Over the years she enjoyed many interests including gardening, camping, cooking, sewing. She also loved curling, something she and Tom did for many years. Mo was a Charter Member of Delta Sigma and Xi Gamma Kappa, local chapters of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for many years.
Mo and Tom spent many happy hours working on their home away from home' in Kyuquot, where they fished, kayaked, beaching and filled their days enjoying life and spending time with friends and family. Mo loved travelling and over the years she made several trips abroad and throughout the world. In recent years she joined the Cowichan Lake Community Forest Co-Op organization, representing the Lake Cowichan Chamber of Commerce. Mo "loved" being involved and only stopped attending when her health declined.
