July 28, 1924 - August 15, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Muriel Edith Clark, nee Woodington, announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, August 15 2018 at the age of 94 years.

Muriel was born in England on July 28, 1924. During WWII she met and married the love of her life Sydney (Syd) Clark and moved to Canada as a young War Bride in 1946. Together Muriel and Syd raised three sons while living in Victoria.

Muriel was a homemaker until her youngest son started school, and then became a Rural Route Currier delivering mail for Canada Post in Saanich, before moving to Duncan where she worked at the Cowchian District Hospital until her retirement.

Muriel was an avid reader, and also enjoyed dancing, gardening, playing cards and a day at the casino, but her true passion was travel and she was always ready for the next adventure.

In 1977 she took her first cruise, and became a dedicated cruiser for the next 40 years. After her retirement, Muriel and Syd enjoyed a World Cruise, visits with her family in England and many memorable winters in Palm Springs California.

Family was important to Muriel and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She cared deeply for her friends and enjoyed meeting them at the Cowchian Valley Seniors Club for cards weekly.

Muriel was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years Sydney Clark, her parents Charles and Edith Woodington and siblings; Ida, Sidney, Maurice and Edna. She leaves behind sons Ian (Vicki), Stephen (Susan) and Michael (Lesley) as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, or the charity of the donor's choice.
