It is with deep sorrow and sadness that I have to announce that our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather Norm, left us peacefully at home on March 3, 2017 at 11:45 am with his family by his side.

He was predeceased by his mother and leaves behind his wife Addie of 56 years and his three children Allan, Tracey, Cindy; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was born in Edmonton, Alberta on April 3, 1939 and he and his mother moved to Vancouver. The highlight of his childhood was getting to drive and shoot a real live Sherman tank when he belonged to the Duke of Conaughts Own Rifles as a cadet. In April 1957 he joined the Navy. He sailed on the HMCS Ontario and Ste. Therese. During his stay in the Navy he met a beautiful sweet young thing named Adelene (Addie). He got out of the Navy in April, 1960 and on November 12 he and Addie were married. They lived in Vancouver for a while then moved to Campbell River where he started his career in the Forest Industry. He worked in various mills from Tahsis, Fraser Valley and The Island where they finally settled in Duncan with their three children.

He became very involved in helping the community. Norm was a Kinsmen member, President and later and Life Member. He was President of the United Way and a valued member of the Legion. He was also president of the Navy League. His biggest enjoyment was garage saling and getting firewood.

A special thanks to Dr. Pullan for her caring and always being there for us no matter what time of day or night. It is greatly and truly appreciated.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 12, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Vimy Hall, 3968 Gibbins Road in Duncan.
