Patricia Ann Molyneaux (nee Carter)

September 7, 1947 - August 8, 2021
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Molyneaux on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the age of 73 years.
Pat was born in Grande Prairie, AB where she finished all her schooling and was a charter student of the Grande Prairie Regional College. Her passion for teaching led her to complete a Bachelor of Education degree through the University of Alberta.
Pat taught for 35 years in the Grande Prairie School District and often said, "I loved everyday I went to work." She was a compassionate teacher with an amazing ability to connect with children. Pat was respected by her colleagues and became lifelong friends with many including her "Dome" girls.
Pat met her soulmate Lyle Molyneaux in high school and they were married for over 50 years. Together they travelled and golfed around the world. Pat was an excellent golfer and a member of the Grande Prairie Golf and Country Club. When Pat retired, she and Lyle moved to Vancouver Island and became members of the Cowichan Golf and Country Club.
Pat is survived by her brother Doug (Ghislaine) Carter; sisters: Kathy (Kirk) Sutherland, Deb (Dale) Plante, Linda Carter; sister in law Gerry Carter, as well as her precious dog Ember. Pat loved her family and her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is predeceased by her loving husband Lyle on December 5, 2020; parents: Robert and Doris Carter; older sister Joan Dietrich, brother in law Hans Dietrich, brother Bob Carter, as well as her niece Cassidy Dietrich.
We wish to express our gratitude to the staff of Avenir Memory Care in Nanaimo for their loving care of our sister. Memorial donations in honour of Pat's love for animals may be made directly to the BC SPCA Cowichan Community Animal Centre (7550 Bell McKinnon Road, Duncan, BC, V9L 6B1).
Due to Covid19, a private Celebration of Life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Sands Funeral Chapel - Duncan.
