July 21, 1934 - September 24, 2020
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pauline Taylor, at Duncan, BC on September 24, 2020, after a long illness.
Pauline was born on July 21, 1934 in Blackburn, Lancashire to Helen (Clifford) and Thomas Riley. She attended school in both Lancashire and London, eventually graduating from a nursing program.
Pauline married Terence Arthur Taylor on November 5, 1954, and emigrated to Canada with their two young daughters in 1959. They disembarked in Montreal on August 6, 1959, and then made their way across Canada by train, eventually settling in Bow Island, Alberta, before discovering their beloved Vancouver Island in 1961.
Pauline and Terry were enthusiastic tennis players, golfers, skiers and bridge players. Pauline worked for School District 65/79 for many years. After retiring, Pauline and Terry indulged their passion for travelling, living for periods of time in Brunei, England, Arizona and California, as well as visiting many exotic spots around the world in Asia, Africa and Europe.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband Terry on September 29, 2019. She is survived by her daughters Sharon Roberts (Roy) and Shelley Kay (Paul), and grandchildren Sean (Whitney), Gareth, Thomas, Arianwen (Tyrone), Taylor and Patrick (Shae), as well as great grandson Henry.
There will be no funeral or service. Instead, when the family is able to gather again, both Pauline's and Terry's ashes will be mingled together, in death as there were in life, and spread somewhere beautiful that they both would have loved.
