July 30, 1946 - July 21, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Fitzpatrick on July 21st with his loving family by his side, after a short illness. He was born July 30, 1946 in London, Ontario and grew up in Montreal. The west coast called him in 1973 and he never looked back. Peter was an entrepreneur from an early age, an adventurer always, a journeyman carpenter, and a great businessman as the owner of Island Imports and Coastal Pacific Forest Products.
EAlways the joker, he knew how to make people laugh, walk confidently through life, work hard, always get a deal, and most of all, love his family fiercely. He left his children with his crazy sense of humour and loud love of life. He truly was their hero. He cherished "his little Cheryle" and they enjoyed endless travels and adventures together. He didn't let anything get in his way and truly lived life to its fullest.
EHe is survived by his loving wife Cheryle Henry. His children with first wife Marlene Sand - Leeanne (Derek), Meagan (Brad), and his son Kyle. He also leaves Cheryle's children: Kianna, Kayne (Kirsti), Sarah (Ty) and Bailey; his step-grandchildren: Teagan, Tanner, Skylyn, Julian, Aralynn, and Toby and his siblings: Michael (Lenie), David (Brenda) and Susan Smith (Rod), several nieces and nephews, the Sand family, and many cherished friends. Peter was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Marguerite Fitzpatrick, his and Marlene's infant son John, his nephew Mathew, and granddaughter Autumn.
A Celebration of Peter's Life will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 1:30 - 4:00 pm at Vimy Hall, 3968 Gibbins Rd., Duncan, BC.
