March 1, 1948 - April 9, 2025

In loving memory ~

Reginald (Reg) Kenneth Ogden was born on March 1, 1948 in Victoria BC and passed away April 9, 2025 in Duncan BC. Reg was a caring husband, father, Papa and a loyal friend. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 57 years Doris; his beloved daughters: Charlene Taylor (Ryan), Jeanine (Darrin Busscher); grandchildren: Alyssa and Kienan, as well as his dear nieces, nephews, sisters, sisters in law and brothers in law.

Reg grew up on Vancouver Island, starting out on his parent's farm in Victoria. As a young husband and father he later built a house for his family in Shawnigan Lake. A very hardworking dedicated man, Reg worked from the age of 15 to 77. He was a mechanic, a welder, a crane operator, a lover of animals, a builder, a wood worker, a truck driver and mentor to so many. He loved teaching and sharing his knowledge of mechanics with his friends and son-in-law. A true "car guy", Reg restored many cars over the years while making life long friendships with fellow enthusiasts and sharing this passion with his wife.

Travelling was another passion of Reg's. Cruises with Doris and friends (he really loved Alaska), car race trips to the US, Maui for his daughter's wedding and many Rod Runs were enjoyed over the years.

Nicknamed "The Grump" but so far from that, he was a big softy with a huge heart. Reg was always good for a laugh with his dry sense of humor and quick wit. A very generous man, he consistently lent a hand to whomever needed it. A proud Dad and Papa, his girls and grandchildren brought so much joy to his life, from bragging about their achievements to working in the yard with them or enjoying a family dinner together. Reg was so thankful for the friends and family who have been there for his family and would be so at ease knowing that Doris will be well looked after.

Gone far too soon, he will be deeply missed. A gathering of hot rods, friends and family will take place in the summer to honor his memory.
