March 28, 1931 - October 28, 2020
It is with great sadness that the family of Rene Kundig announces his passing on October 28th, 2020.
Rene was predeceased by his father Alois, mother Lina and sister Rosmarie all from Zurich, Switzerland.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, daughter Marie Brain (Chris) of Cobble Hill, daughter Susan Kundig of Sechelt, two grandsons, Kevin and Derek and two great grandchildren.
Dad was born on March 28th, 1931 in Zurich, Switzerland and at the age of 25, immigrated to Canada in 1956.
He was a heavy duty mechanic by trade and an extremely hard working man. He worked in the Yukon, west coast logging camps and later at Domans, Buckerfields, Top Shelf, Evans Redi Mix among many other businesses around town with his mobile shop.
Dad was active his entire life and enjoyed bow hunting/archery, hiking, sailing, a good game of ping pong and chess. Being brought up in Switzerland and during his many travels, he was multilingual and able to speak in many languages.
In his retirement years, he discovered his love for painting. This came naturally to him as we saw the beautiful detailed artwork from his homeland that he created. He loved all his animals and had a special bond with his German Shepard, Sami who was never far from Dad.
We can no longer see you with our eyes, touch you with our hands but will forever feel you in our hearts, Dad.
Cremation and no service by Dad's request.
