Richard was born in Comox ,BC he was the youngest of 11 siblings. He was very close to his brother Bob and spent most of his life travelling to visit each other and having many a story to tell most of all about there favourite subject logging. They would reminisce for hours.
After graduating he met the love of his life Diana Robertson whom he married in Courtenay. They moved to Powell River together where he started a career as a logger. His work then took him to Lake Cowichan in 1960.
Richard was a self taught TV repairman which he did in his spare time in the home, it then turned into a Video, Stereo Electronics Business. It was the very first store of its kind in the Lake Cowichan Area. Eventually sons John and Dan joined the business helping greatly to make it successful.
Once Richard retired he was always busy at a project at the home. Annual visits to Yuma and trips to Mexico, Columbia, Hong Kong, Spain, and Ireland were an enjoyable part of Richard's life. Richard loved family get togethers.
We had annual family reunion's in July at Little River BC. Always a huge gathering as he had such a large family, The stories and fun we had are such fond memories.
Richard was also know to glue everything. If it was broken let's fix it with glue.
The family would like to thank John for taking care of Dad at home for as long as possible. We would also like to Thank Sunridge Care Home for the wonderful care in his last couple of months.
