Our Rick passed away at Comox Hospital. He fought so hard and so long to stay with us all. He took a piece of our hearts with him.

Predeceased by his dad Ken Evans and brother-in-law Tom Gamble.

Loved and missed by his mom Verla Evans, his kids Hailey Evans and Aaron Bernasky. His love and his 'rock' Julie Sharron and her sons Brandon and Cody, his brother Grant Evans (Shirl), his sisters Jo-Ann Textor (Barry) and Debbie Gamble, and many nieces and nephews. Also his devoted and caring friends John and Kelly McGregor, Ross and Susie D., Bill and Sheri Mattin, Al Williams and many more.

Rick had a passion for driving since he was 8 years old, driving a little Toyota truck around on the property. He was born with a stick shift in his hands like his Dad. He upgraded to driving B-trains on the Island. Then working in Fort Mac, Kitimat and Logan Lake driving rock trucks and graders. Later in life he rode his Harley to many beautiful areas with a huge grin on his face.

He loved the ocean and rivers, fishing, animals, nature and traveling. His quick wit and one-liners were legendary right up to the end! He was a good man.

He had a team of caring professionals behind him. Especially Dr. Attwell, Dr. Austin, Dr. Nancy McFadden. Thank you for your compassion and care for Rick for the last year and a half.

He left far too soon, he was tired of the struggle, he was 'done'. He died peacefully and suddenly.

We will always love you Rick and miss you so much.

"See you later alligator."
