Born in Calgary, Alberta, of the Cowichan Valley, passed away suddenly on March 27, 2020.
He is predeceased by his parents Vivian and Alexander Kozma, parents- in-law Rosella and Eric Roberts, brothers-in-law Lorne and Christopher, and rescue pets - who were an important part of his life. He is lovingly survived by his wife Heather, son Robert, twin-brother Randall, sister Janice and family, brother-in-law Peter (Annie) and family, sister-in-law Susan (Rene) and family, aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.
As a child, Rick enjoyed many summers with family in Creston, B.C. and more recently for many years he enjoyed his time spent with Heather living in their home on the Cowichan River. A child of the 60's, Rick had a strong passion for politics and music, and was a kind and caring man. Rick's lifetime career in the Telecom Industry included much international and domestic travel providing Rick an abundance of rich material for story-telling, enjoyed by many. Rick enjoyed fishing and golfing and in his retirement his interest in solar energy grew, kindly helping friends with their home solar projects. In remembering Rick, possibly invest in a home solar project, continuing his passion.
A celebratory gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in memory of Richard Kozma to The First Open Heart Society of B.C. (website: www.fohs.ca)
