With heavy hearts and many tears. As a family we announce the peaceful passing of our mother. With her family by her side, as she left this world to walk into the arms of her husband to begin their new life together.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Steve Strang, sister Mary Richardson, brother Louis Holman, son-in-law Frank Kodric and nephew Michael Holman.

She is survived by her two daughers Tina Strang and Laura Hoek (John) and two grandchildren Lanie Hoek (Cody Elzinga) and Blake Hoek. She left behind three sisters Shirley Holman, Ellen MacLeod and Cathy Larson (John Borgoni), three brothers George Holman (Mary J), Charlie Holman (Gail) and John Holman (Linda), sister-in-law Mary V Holman (Tom Lee), sister in law Stina Hale (Rick Hesketh), many nieces , nephews, cousins and many friends.

Tina and Laura would like to thank our Aunty Cathy and Uncle John Borgoni for spending time with mom. Whether Cathy was doing her nails or John was pushing mom on a bumpy hunting road, taking her out in the fresh air and into the sunshine. Thanks for being there holding our hands and your encouraging words. Through the heartache and crying you could still make us laugh.

When her girls were young, they spend summer holidays camping or cooling off at the family’s private spot on Chemainus River at Dewey Hole. She would pack a picnic and dad would meet us there for dinner after work.

She belonged to the Ladies 5 Pin Bowling League, Thursday mornings from 1982-1986. On her birthdays and special holidays she would like to celebrate with her girlfriends from high school (Phyllis, Maryann, Jean, Sharon and Lorna).

Mom and Dad spent time at the cabin that they shared with Colin Ross at Scum Lake. She loved visiting their friends all over the BC Interior and making new ones along the way.

Mom loved going to the Crofton Senior Center on Tuesdays for bingo, Wednesdays for soup and a sandwich and the occasional potluck dinners. She also really enjoyed the Christmas dinners that the ladies of the kitchen at the Crofton Community Center put on for them.

In lieu of flowers you can make a donation to the Crofton Senior Center, Box 8, Crofton, BC V0R 1R0.
