Roy Wheeldon

July 27, 1928 - September 19, 2017

It is with a heavy heart that the family of Roy Wheeldon announce that he passed away peacefully on September 19th at Chemainus Hospice with his loving wife of 55 years by his side.

Roy was born in England in 1928, and emigrated to Toronto in 1954 where he worked as a Senior Engineering Technician for B/A, Gulf then Petro-Canada till his retirement in 1993.

He and Doreen married in 1962 and had 3 amazing daughters - Emma (Bruce), Moira (Cesar) and Robyn (Jamie) who are blessed to have had such a wonderful and devoted father.

The special relationship with each of his grandchildren - Adam, Callam and Paige - was unique and cherished.

Roy was a quiet, loving and very caring husband, father and grandfather who supported his family in following their dreams and passions.

He enjoyed curling for many years, watching UK soccer on TV and especially his hobby of woodworking.

He spent many happy fulfilling hours in his workshop making furniture and clocks for the family, friends and fundraisers.

Roy requested that no service be held; instead the family will have a private ceremony at a later date.

We'd like to thank Dr. Klopper and Kalsie, Dr. Wilhelm and the entire Palliative Care team (especially Debbie) for making his last journey as comfortable as possible.

Online donations in Roy's name can be made to the Cowichan Valley Hospice.
