July 7, 1935 - September 3, 2019
On Tuesday, September 3rd, we said goodbye to our beloved Scott McIvor. Cherished husband of 62 years to Judy, father to Karen (Goreas), Catherine (Knight), Shannon (Dressel) and Rod McIvor.
Scott was also blessed with 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was a man of many achievements. One of the finest was his amazing ability to form friendships and devote his time to community service in all of the places he has lived over his lifetime. He was a man of multiple passions and talents: boating, music, hockey, art, anything with an engine, outdoors, family, business, books, creativity, and humour.
He was a marvelous story and joke-teller, CIBC manager for 25 years, 9 years as a Councillor for District of North Cowichan, master of many ceremonies, and kilt-wearer! To quote his niece Jill, "Uncle Scott was a legend, a McIvor and a half! He had bottomless hospitality, insurmountable party spirit, and contagious energy."
He was the cornerstone of our clan, and we will miss him like crazy. A celebration of life to be confirmed in the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rotary Club of Duncan.
