Taken From All of Us, Unannounced and Sudden It Was Too Soon.
Shae was a strong, talented woman who embraced all aspects of life. She was beautiful, intelligent, and vibrant. Shae's inner strength and patience gave her an emotional balance that always led her to take the high road. Guided by a steadfast moral compass, her journey was filled with love and gratification.
Professionally, Shae was an accomplished Real Estate Agent of 17 years and was a director on the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB). Acting primarily as a licensed residential agent, she was also one of the few female designated commercial Realtors on the Island. Personally, Shae was the Deputy Governor of Lower Vancouver Island Kinettes, a non-profit charity organization.
She also held previous positions with the Kinettes of Duncan; including President, Vice-President, and Secretary. She was a member of the Cowichan Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the local "100+ Women Who Care" charity group since its inception.
With all of her achievements, Shae had a willingness to contribute so much more. She was actively participating in being part of the solution, rather than standing discontent on the sidelines. Continuously striving to bring positive change to all aspects of her life, the limits of her aspirations were endless.
Shae's love for family was foremost and unwavering. She was the foundation, soul, and matriarch of our household. Shae was very proud of the strong core values held by her sons and stepdaughter; Brock, Scott, Thomas, and Mikki. She admired their unpretentious love for each other and felt the unconditional love they held for her. This love they possess for their mother will endure within. It will be a constant driving force throughout the remainder of their lives, providing strength, comfort, and joy.
Shae and I have been together 34 years. Our love, support, and respect for each other has never diminished. A life full of great memories shared with the woman I love. She had a smile and eyes that would melt your heart. Watching Shae grow as a person has been the most rewarding experience of my life. I am so proud of her.
The outpouring of people reaching out to Shae is very comforting. It speaks to her character and the many lives she touched - and the lives that touched hers. As we all grieve the loss of Shae, let us continue to support each other so we all manage to get past this moment. Her spirit will continue to live on through us. We can honour Shae's memory by emulating her compassion and love for others.
Eventually we will reach a point where all we can remember is how awesome Shae was.
Loving Husband, Doug Webber
