It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our Mother, Grandmother, Great grandmother, and great great grandmother, Shirley May Morrison (Nee Matson). She was born on a homestead in the Badlands near Imlay, South Dakota. To Olaf Karl and Hazel (Scott) Matson.
Shirley graduated from High School in Rapid City in 1942. She met Donald Royden Morrison in 1941, the one great love of her life. They married in 1942 and had 4 children: Kristie Lee, Kathie Ann, Donald Joel, and Steven Royden. To Shirley her family was everything. Besides being a wonderful mother, she was a true friend and a great neighbour, wherever she moved to.
She lost her husband in 2000, her son Donald, in 2013, and her youngest son Steven in 2019. She leaves behind her two daughters, and one stepdaughter, Jill ; 17 grand children, 26 great grand children, 17 great, great grand children and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, 3 brothers, Scott Leroy (Betty), Marion (Pat) Bartlett (Nellie), Karl Wesley (Lela), and one sister Bernice Dinnel (Slim).
Remains will be cremated and burial will be in the Black Hills National Cemetery in South Dakota, near Sturgis with her husband Donald.
