1928-2021 ~ Tom sadly passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at the Cowichan District Hospital ICU.
Tom is survived by his sister Loretta, daughters Gail (Pierre), Sherri and Kathy, grandchildren Christine (Scott), John (Joo Yeon), Jenny (Paul), David, Tara (Chris), Matthew, Jason (Caroline), Terri Lynn and twelve great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Shirley, daughter Karen and brothers Walter and Harry.
In his younger years he joined the sea cadets where he learned to play the drums and later played in a small local band. Tom served in the Canadian Army Service Corps for 30 years with 3 postings to CFB Borden, ON, 3 postings to Germany, CFB Shilo, MB, CFB Cold Lake, AB, Egypt Peacekeeping, CFB Winnipeg, MB and CFB Chilliwack BC, before moving to London, ON where he worked 10 years for Bell Canada.
Mom and Dad retired to Kentville, NS before moving to Vancouver Island, BC.
Tom loved his family, bowling, military tattoos and travelling, taking many road trips in Canada and the USA, as well as rail and cruise trips. He had a great love of music and enjoyed the Chemainus Theatre and local concerts. He especially enjoyed the Walden House Day Program.

The family would like to thank all of the CDH staff on the 2nd floor and the ICU for their kind support and care, especially Dr. Ismail for her many years caring for Tom. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions a memorial service will be held at a later date.
