March 20, 1941 - October 25, 2018
Tom passed away on October 25, 2018 after a short battle with brain cancer. Tom leaves behind his wife Terry and stepsons Tyson and Des, brothers Victor, Norman (Cecile), sister Doris (Bob) and brother Dick (Rhonda) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Tom was best known in the Cowichan Valley as head coach of the Cowichan Timbermen from 1965 to 1967.

Tom was born in Duncan on March 20, 1941. In 1942, he left the Valley and spent the next 8 years of his life in the Slocan Valley. In 1950, his family moved back to Vancouver Island and lived in Paldi. Tom graduated from Lake Cowichan High School in 1959. He then headed to UBC and graduated in 1964 with a Physical Education degree. He taught high school in Lake Cowichan in 1965-66. During that year he played softball for Bucky's and rugby for Cowichan, as well as coaching football. Even after moving to Vancouver Tom returned on weekends to coach the Timbermen for two more seasons.
