Aggressive dog lunges at man in Duncan

While walking on Trunk Road by the Duncan Cobbler, using up time until my doctor’s appointment, I felt something push hard against my thigh from behind. I turned and a pit bull (black and brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier) inches away lunged, barked aggressively, gnashing his big teeth in his huge head. His owner pulled the large dog away. I told him to keep control of his dog, got no apology of course.

When I had my blood pressure taken at the doctor’s office I told her about the incident and suggested this might be the reason for my elevated blood pressure.

Assault is an intentional act that creates apprehension in another of imminent harm. It should, in my mind, be applied to dogs and their owners. CVRD is updating its bylaw to encompass aggressive dogs, I suggest they get on with that.
