CFLA does important work in the community

In the Thursday, June 18, edition of the Cowichan Valley Citizen, Kevin Rothbauer described the Cowichan Family Life Association’s financial difficulties due to the cancellation of important fundraisers. On June 2, 100 Men Who Care Cowichan Valley, of which I am a member, voted to award CFLA approximately $11,000. We are currently collecting these funds and when that process is completed, CFLA’s financial situation will, hopefully, be in better condition.

I am distressed that CFLA has had to cancel their fundraisers because of COVID-19. These functions help to support the efforts of CFLA to strengthen our community by providing necessary services to families and individuals who require counselling services. The CFLA has been doing this vital work for half a century.

Anyone who has been in need of counselling services and has been in touch with CFLA will understand how important it is to keep this agency viable.
