Climate strikers to be commended
The people who are striking to raise awareness of the global climate crisis (young and old) are to be commended. Contrary to the opinion of John Walker (Citizen, Oct.21) it is the students and their supporters who are fully aware of the “reality”. This generation coming of age understand that now all plans and hopes for their future (education, career, family, home) rest on the possibility that life can continue on planet Earth only if drastic measures are employed quickly to reverse global warming. To discover the essentially basic scientific truths I recommend the book and film by former NASA climate scientist Peter Kalmus, Being the Change — Live Well and Spark a Climate Revolution.
