Do they teach geography in Alberta?

Since the recent election I have been deluged with various news reports about how Alberta and Saskatchewan are so unhappy with the result that they want to secede and form a nation of Western Canada. Has anybody explained geography to these would be Confederates? British Columbia is the west, period, and after the overbearing and arrogant way successive Alberta governments have treated our legitimate concerns I am wondering what would possess a reasoning conservative to think we would be willing to trust them to hear our voice?

Should Alberta actually withdraw from confederation do you suppose the prime minister they so despise would care if their bitumen got to China? Obviously the loud voices whining on the other side of the Rockies are those of fools whose ability to think is impaired, and for responsible media to be repeating their nonsense just because of the noise they make seems to this child of two journalists to be a waste of space better spent on advertising hair replacement formulae or male enhancement supplements.

I note that so far those media appear to be based in the far east, in Toronto and Ottawa, where anything west of Sudbury seems as remote as the hurtling moons of Barsoom. Thankfully, our local media seem aware what direction the sun sets in, for which i wish to express my gratitude. Keep those supplement ads coming!
