Duncan couple pays for strangers’ dinner

My wife and I recently traveled from our home in Portland to Victoria to celebrate our anniversary.

On Saturday evening, just ahead of your Thanksgiving, we enjoyed a wonderful meal at Il Terrazzo. As she sometimes does, my wife struck up a conversation with the couple at the table next to ours. When it came time to leave, our waiter informed us that the couple (who left before us) had paid our bill — drinks, wine and dinner! We were dumbfounded. What an extraordinary gesture!

The only thing we know about these very generous people is that they said they were from Duncan. So, Kind Benefactors, if you see this letter, please accept our sincere thanks and let us know if you ever get to Portland so that we can return the favor.
