Farmers need to get with water conservation game-plan
In your Aug. 2 editorial “Pumping wake-up”, you state: “It’s baffling that some still stubbornly refuse to do even minimal water conservation…” Which leads me to ask the farmers in this valley: why don’t you do your bit? Instead, you insist on watering your fields during the heat of the day! Mr. Farmer, does it not make more sense to water in the morning or late afternoon, during periods of lower water evaporation? And does it not occur to you that perhaps you’re sharing the same aquifer as your neighbours? Come-on, get with the conservation game-plan.
