Important voting information for non-residents

While numerous property owners in the CVRD are not full-time residents, they are still eligible to vote on October 20 and its important they understand the process to doing so.

To make your voice count on Oct. 20, all non-resident owners interested in voting, are asked to visit the CVRD offices in Duncan during office hours and show proof of property ownership. The CVRD website is a useful tool to visit on the steps it takes to do so.

Non-Resident Voters (those who own property in the CVRD but live outside the regional district), can apply to register as a Non-Resident Property Elector prior to voting day at the Regional District Office, 175 Ingram St. in Duncan, during regular office hours, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. You must provide two pieces of identification and proof that you are the registered owner on title. If the property is owned jointly with other individuals, written consent of the majority of all the owners to vote as the non-resident property elector in relation to the property. Only one non-resident may vote per parcel.
