Is there legally binding agreement on Motorsport expansion?

Three local retired fellows were discussing the expansion of the Motorsport Circuit and whether stopping that expansion would truly result in the doubling of the Valley citizens’ yearly local taxes. We unanimously agreed to request documented proof of this authorization for expansion that was allegedly given by the local council and/or municipality authorized signatories.

Our request is: “Please publish in this newspaper (prior to the next council meeting on this topic) the legal document with signatures and proper date….which show that North Cowichan council or municipal authorities are legally bound to allow this Motorsport expansion.”

If there is such a legally signed and binding agreement, then any further council meeting on this subject is unnecessary and fruitless. Proceed with the expansion and stop riling up the Motorsport supporters.

If there is no such legally signed and binding agreement, then someone in council is speaking with forked tongue to frighten the taxpayers into supporting the controversial project.

Please publish the document which shows this permission for expansion was granted, and is bound legally with date and signatures by authorized signatories.
