Anti-maskers intimidating Red Cross volunteers shameful

This week the Red Cross, with whom I am not affiliated in any way, is operating a financial relief effort in the Cowichan Valley to assist those affected by flooding.

A couple of people attended at their location and refused to don a mask when requested. They claimed to be exempt but did not offer any reason for that exemption. Upon being refused service they attempted to threaten and intimidate the volunteers in order to get their way. I understand that proof of an exemption is premised on the honour system but of course one has to be honourable for that to be meaningful. That was definitely not the case in this instance and this was a despicable manner in which to treat volunteers dedicated to assistance to flood relief victims.

I am embarrassed and angry that these residents of our Valley would stoop this low in order to avoid responsibility for the health of everyone.
