Book sale big success
We would like to thank everyone who attended the Garden House Foundation Fund’s recent charity book sale held at Bonner School, and for their willingness to provide proof of vaccination before entering the building.
Thank you also to Ten Old Books and the Mission Thrift Store for their support as well as the many individuals who donated books. The Bonner School and Brentwood College staffs and student volunteers did a commendable job, and we are ever grateful for our loyal team of adult volunteers. Thanks also to RONA Cobble Hill and Accent Screen Printing for their donations of resources.
Profits from the sale have been added to the foundation’s permanent fund which provides annual grants to the Duncan SPCA, Cowichan Family Life and Cowichan Women Against Violence, and will do so forever. To learn more please visit www.gardenhousefoundation.wordpress.com. Book donations will be accepted again starting Dec. 1.
This year the permanent fund returns have surpassed the book sale proceeds and cash donations, which total $14,315. As a result, the fund’s total increase this year of at least $35,000 by the end of December will take the permanent fund to over $200,000.
