Correct mask wearing important

My husband and I visited family in Ontario, returning last month. I noticed that everyone there wore masks in indoor public places and outdoors when among people on the street. Signs outside stores informed people that both the nose and chin must be covered by their masks.

Since our return to Vancouver Island, I have noticed several times that people are wearing masks but have failed to cover their noses with them. I understand that mask wearing is not fun, but the improper use of it is ineffective. If the mask is not correctly worn, a person may as well not wear one at all. I am dismayed that those who choose not to wear a mask (I noted three in the grocery store this week) or to wear them incorrectly have no regard for their fellow citizens. It is not difficult to put on a simple paper mask to put all patrons at ease.
