Crumbling pavement needs attention

Dear Duncan mayor and council:

I am again urgently requesting council budget major repaving work along Government Street, between Boundary Road and Cowichan Way, just across the rail tracks.

This frustrating stretch, loaded with deep potholes and crumbling pavement, is of Third World quality. It is dangerous to motorists, pedestrians and bike riders.

It has been this way for some time and has only gotten worse after our recent winter weather and plowing work.

I implore council to inspect and replace this disgraceful stretch of roadway before an accident occurs — which could carry citizens costly litigation against council.

Yours in safety and urban beauty,

Peter W. Rusland,

North Cowichan
