Duncan should not install charging stations

Someone please correct me if I am wrong. If gasoline companies want to sell fuel to car owners, do they not have to buy the land, install necessary equipment and then sell the fuel?

So why then is the City of Duncan providing new electric vehicle charging stations (at a cost of $74,280 each) when really, BC Hydro should be providing the stations, the electricity and then take the profits? I think I know the reason — because there are no profits. If there were profits to be made I am absolutely sure corporations would be fighting for a slice of that particular cake.

Why the City of Duncan thinks it is even responsible to provide charging stations for such a minuscule proportion of the population is beyond me. BC Hydro must be very glad that they don’t have to provide this service when someone is doing it for them, and free of charge. Pun was accidental.
