May 16 editorial blew a high note

Your May 16 editorial (“Cowichan Valley a paradise for art lovers”) mentioned events all over the Cowichan Valley and beyond but left out one of the biggest musical lineups of the year, Music in the Park, which happens right here at the bandshell in Chemainus.

Every year, an eclectic mix of blues, rock, C&W, soul, jazz, folk, and bluegrass musicians takes to the stage, offering by-donation concerts. Almost 20 bands have been booked this year, and three festivals are planned: the Chemainus Valley Blues Festival on July 6 and 7; the Bluegrass Festival, July 20; and the Accordion Festival, Aug. 17.

Readers who want to take a seat under the trees in Waterwheel Park can go to cvcas.ca/events to find out who’s playing, when. There will be something for everyone in the mix.
