More conservation officers needed
What sub-human would kill and dismember two innocent cougar kittens?
Details of this heinous local act appear in the May 12, 2022 Citizen.
Until we have far more conservation officers, bulletproof whistleblower protection, plus extreme fines and jail time for such cruel acts, this wanton butchery will continue to be inflicted on our precious wildlife.
Sadly, such monstrous acts are not new to Cowichan. All species are targeted by savage poachers targeting eagles, bears, elk and many other creatures.
Indeed, wildlife deserves the same respect as that given to human life.
