Letter: Music Festival a bright light in the gloom

Music Festival a bright light in the gloom

Yesterday I attended the Highlights Concert which was the wrap-up event of the Cowichan Valley Music Festival.

What a pleasure it was to put aside all the negative news, the doom and gloom of the pandemic and the war in Ukraine, and sit back and enjoy the talent of so many young people. From dance to voice, piano to violin, all performers showed such enthusiasm and joy. It was an afternoon of sheer delight and I would like to thank the many volunteers who worked so tirelessly to bring the Festival to the Valley, and the many sponsors who supported it. It was really heartening to see that music of all kinds is still bringing joy to so many. Thank you to all concerned.
