Mayor Douglas and council:
I also thank those on council who are forward and proactive thinkers, who adopted the climate strategy and concur with Peter Rusland's assessment of those councillors who are in opposition to this planning.
In my opinion our council is not operating in the best interests of our community as a whole, when there are three councillors who vote to block anything that is sensible for the times we live in.
If this idea of opposing the majority of motions, that are obviously beneficial to the whole of our community, residents, taxpayers and commercial businesses, by these three councillors who clearly have an agenda that seems to only represent a minority interest, these three councillors must and should start to show that they deserve a seat at the council table. Otherwise they are wasting taxpayers time and money, which would be better spent on individuals who actually care about moving our community forward with up to date practices, of which I believe the mayor and other three councillors are employing in their work for the community.
So the questions are, when will councillors, Manhas, Caljouw and Findlay begin to earn their seat and become educated to the present day vs. making decisions based on the status quo of times 40 years in the past?
When will either of these three councillors actually bring forward an initiative that is beneficial to our community rather than wasting everyone's time by simply "opposing"?
